For the purposes of this demonstration, we will be running the current
version (2.2.0.1 as of writing) of WinIP and we'll assume we're running a variant of Windows, ie. 9x NT ME or 2K.
1. OK, let's start, first of all download the latest version of WinIP from the
download list on the main site
2. Install WinIP, once it is installed you should get an icon within the start
menu to start it, start the WinIP program (See diagram 1)

Diagram 1
3. You will see various options available once you have started WinIP up, the
first one will be the Protocol option, leave this as it is at ODS
4. The server box, in this you need to type update.ods.org
5. The mail relay box can't be filled in so leave it as it is (See diagram 2 for
steps 3, 4 and 5)

Diagram 2
6. Now onto your own information. First of all you need to insert your hostname
which will be in the format of whatever.ods.org where ods.org can be replaced
with any available domain on ODS
7. Your username is entered here which you entered at sign up
8. Finally your password for your account which was also entered by you at sign
up (See diagram 3 for steps 6, 7 and 8)

Diagram 3
9. Finally there is the IP configuration section, this can safely be left with
"Let the server determine my IP" checked and the "Current IP" box greyed. (See
diagram 4)

10. Then simply click on start! Hopefully all will go well and it should tell
you that your hostname has come online fine
